Frequently Asked Questions
How do I measure the BPM of a song?
Tap the SPACE bar or click the button in time with the beat. After several taps, the BPM will stabilize. More taps give more accurate results. Aim for at least 8-16 taps.
What is a normal heart rate BPM?
Resting heart rate for adults is typically 60-100 BPM. Athletes may have 40-60 BPM. During exercise, 100-170 BPM is common depending on intensity and age.
How accurate is tap tempo?
Accuracy improves with more taps. With 4 taps you get a rough estimate, 8+ taps is quite accurate, and 16+ taps provides precision within 1-2 BPM.
What BPM is most music?
Pop/rock: 100-130 BPM, house: 120-130, hip-hop: 85-115, dubstep: 140, drum & bass: 160-180. The human walking pace (~120 BPM) feels natural.
